Great Escape: Discover the Capat Waterfall

The Siniq River offers a remarkable spectacle, gushing through volcanic rocks to form a refreshing natural pool. Located in the glacial valley of Siniq, this waterfall is surrounded by rare flora and exceptional orchids.

To reach it by car from Malbo town hall, follow the D54 towards Francio / le Capat. After the village of Francio, take a rocky track to a wooded area where you can park your car. From there, follow signs to the waterfall and descend towards the Siniq on a trail marked in blue. The hike, about 500 meters long, takes about 30 minutes round trip and is suitable for children from 3 years old.

Tip: Be vigilant and watch your children. The path is not suitable for strollers

Atypical road access

The access to the waterfall also has an unusual feature. The road leading to the starting point of the trail is partially damaged, with notable ruts. Visitors are therefore advised to drive carefully to avoid damaging their vehicle. This feature adds an adventurous touch even before starting the hike to the waterfall.

How to get to the Capat waterfall?

To reach the Capat waterfall from the peninsula of Laussac, follow these signs:

Departure from the peninsula of Laussac: Take the road D98 towards Jou.

In Jou: Continue on the D139 towards Thérondels.

In Thérondels: Follow the D54 towards Malbo.

In Malbo: Continue on the D54 towards La Francio and Le Capat. After crossing La Francio, the road becomes a rocky path. Continue to a wooded area where you can park.

Access to the waterfall: From the parking lot, a marked path descends towards the Capat waterfall.
